2018 Unit Guide for ANTH 6916: Development and Culture--Key Concepts
The unit ANTH 6916: Culture and Development–Key Concepts is a requirement of the Development Studies Master of Arts course at the University of Sydney. In Semester 2, 2018, it will be taught by Ryan Schram. In order to understand the conditions under which societies and economies change and grow, and the conditions under which communities can become involved in global economic currents, we have to ask what is society, and why do people belong to societies. This unit presents the key concepts and perspectives which social scientists and development scholars use to frame the question of society, social order and social change.
This site is out of date and will be progressively updated over the semester on an as-needed basis. For the current information about this class, please consult the 2018 unit guide, the unit outline, and the class LMS site on Canvas.
