      A village trade store constructed from sago palm and local timber, ca. 1988. In the 1980s and 90s, up to five stores operated in Tambunum village, selling goods such as rice, sugar and flour, among other things. By the 2000s, fuel prices and transport problems led all of them to close. "Nobody has any money," say locals. Eric Silverman, 2014.
