# Tutorial participation

In your tutorial, you will work with your fellow students and
your tutor to develop your own understanding of the ideas we
will discuss. To become aware of your own thinking, you need to
participate actively in an open class discussion. This means
not only being prepared to discuss the common readings each
week, but being willing to take risks, go out on a limb, and
listen to different points of view. The tutors will help you
learn how to do this. We ask that you come every week to your
scheduled tutorial, and make a good effort to participate,
including doing new things.
